Extension of IFA v.5 to be certified under IFA v.6

You can find information on entering a certificate extension in the Database here.

>If you wish to issue a IFA v.6 certificate in the Database, you can extend the IFA v.5.x cycle and then follow the usual procedure.

>When the IFA v.6 certificate is issued in GLOBALG.A.P. Validation Service, the IFA v.5.x certificate extension validity shall be shortened in the Database.
For this, the CBs shall contact the customer support to de-accept the IFA v.5.x cycle in the Database as soon as the IFA v.6 certificate has been issued in VS.

We kindly suggest gathering as many GGNs as possible that need to be de-accepted and send it as an excel file with the following data:

  • GGN
  • Product ID
  • Scheme ID

The new IFA v6 certificate shall have a validity of 12 months minus the extension period granted for the IFA v.5.x certificate, meaning that the new IFA v6 certificate shall have the same valid to date with the IFA v.5.x certificate. Only then the IFA v.5.x extension fees will be credited.

This procedure applies for certificate holders with IFA v.5. and IFA v.5.4-1 GFS applying for IFA v.6 Smart and IFA v.6 GFS for the next growing cycle.

Example:

The validity of the IFA version 5.2 certificate in the Database is 04/05/2022 - 03/05/2023.

A 3 months´ certificate extension is entered in the Database.

The certification cycle of IFA version 6 SMART in the Validation Service will be as follows:

1st Year in VS: 04/08/2023 (DoCD) - 03/05/2024

2nd Year in VS: 04/05/2024 - 03/05/2025

EXCEPTION :

In cases where a IFA certificate with GFSI recognition is required, it will be possible to issue a IFA v5.4-1-GFS certificate as well as a IFA v6 GFS certificate in parallel. Hence, it would not be needed to have the IFA v5.4-1-GFS certificate cycle de-accepted once the IFA v6 GFS certificate cycle has commenced.
