Alignment of GRASP v2 and IFA

This article describes the cycle alignment procedure for GRASPv2 when the valid to is shorter than the IFA cycle.

GRASP v2 is considered by the database system as an initial cycle and therefore runs from the date of certification decision.

Please enter the real audit and DOCD dates for GRASPv2.
However, in order to solve the cycle issue, the procedure looks as follows:

1. Send us an e-mail (to customer_support@globalgap.org) with an excel file that contains as many GGNs as possible where GRASPv2 valid to is shorter than IFA’s. We kindly ask you to refrain from sending one e-mail per GGN.

The excel file shall contain 6 columns: GGN, product Name, Product ID, DOCD of GRASPv2, valid to of the GRASPv2 cycle and valid to of the IFA cycle.

2. We will then respectively extend valid to of GRASP to align with the IFA's valid to  (maximum possible cycle up to 16months).

Note1: These producers with 12-16 months validity should have a higher chance to receive unannounced audits.

Note2: You may of course also shorten the IFA cycle if that is something the client agrees to.

Note3: Assessed GRASP v1.3 cycle is allowed to run out, also when GRASPv2 is running in parallel for a short period of time.

IFA previous cycle: 20/02/2023-19/02/2024, next: 20/02/2024-19/02/2025

GRASPv1.3: 20/02/2023-19/02/2024
GRASPv2:   06/01/2024 - 05/01/2025
Figure 1: The green line represents the IFA cycle and the blue line the GRASP cycle. The “valid to” of GRASP will be extended to align with the IFA cycle as explained earlier.
