Localg.a.p. Primary Farm Assurance

Localg.a.p. was designed by GLOBALG.A.P. to be used as a capacity-building tool or to be applied as a local standard for agricultural supply chains especially in developing economies and emerging markets.
It is intended to help producers adopt good agricultural practices that can improve the efficiency of farm management, cut exposure to food safety risks, and comply with legislation on food safety. Through these steps, producers can gain increased access to local and regional markets.

The localg.a.p. brand offers the Primary Farm Assurance (PFA) Standard.

The PFA control points and compliance criteria are a subset of the GLOBALG.A.P. IFA standard requirements and are available at different levels. Producers can therefore start at the lowest level, and progress to the next higher level(s) when ready. The ultimate intention is to progress towards better practices on the farm level.

Managing the Primary Farm Assurance standard in the database is very similar to managing the Integrated Farm Assurance standard.

1. Please go to Affiliation > Manage products and add corresponding products under Primary Farm Assurance as in the screenshot below:

After you have added a product, you will need to select the hectare area, a CB/PG value, the PFA version, and the multisite value:

After this is done, please click on and confirm with YES.

2. The next step is the Acceptance of the added products. Please see the article Accept products.

3. After the acceptance step is completed, please go to Certification. The procedure to follow is described in the article Certification of products.

You need to enter the auditor and the date of audit and tick the corresponding cycle box. After this step is completed, the products will get the status .

4. The checklists can be uploaded under Checklists >> Checklist upload. Please make sure to choose the Primary Farm Assurance standard, and scheme version, the producer's GGN, the product, the cycle, and the document type you are going to upload. This Scheme Version requires an upload of .xls or .xlsx files.

The Primary Farm Assurance standard is visible to the GLOBALG.A.P. Database search like this:

The status of a Primary Farm Assurance assessed producer can be verified in the GLOBALG.A.P. database.
