It is crucially important for the data integrity of the system that each producer/producer group is registered in the Database with only one GGN. Therefore, clients with already existing GGNs must notify the CB about it in the application form and indicate their GGN.
Notification and registration of such clients will result in their double registration in the database, which is not compliant with the requirements for registration set in General Regulations (GR) Version 5 Part I 4.2.2.
This entails a KPI mark according to GR Part III, 9.3. This failure triggers a 100 euro fee for the Option 1 Producer and a 500 euro fee for an option 2 Producer Group.
The double registered GGN shall be de-accepted and the CB shall de-register it. If the GGN is in status 'not confirmed', please finalize registration, then de-register immediately. A GGN without any accepted products can be de-registered immediately without contacting customer support.
In case where a double registration has been detected and your CB has been contacted by customer support, please provide the producer's application form to determine if the fee needs to be paid by the producer or you as Certification Body, and if the KPI is considered.
