Company Option

The options describe who owns and sells which product.

  • Option 1 GLOBALG.A.P. scheme standard and AMC
  • Option 3 Fully benchmarked schemes

If a single producer owns and sells a product directly to the market, then their own products are certified as option 1 or 3.
The same applies for producer groups: If a group cultivates and sells its own product - a different one than the product of the cooperative - , this product is certified as option 1 or 3.

The individual producer is the certificate holder once certified.

  • Option 2 GLOBALG.A.P. scheme standard and AMC
  • Option 4 Fully benchmarked schemes

If a single producer cultivates a product, but then as a group member sells it to a producer group who then markets the product, the product of this single producer is registered and accepted under option 2 or 4. This product of the producer group is then certified under option 2 or 4.
Also the group itself can grow this (the same) product on its own (or rented) fields - however this cannot be registered in the GLOBALG.A.P. Database. Though it has to be listed in the annex of the paper certificate.

The producer group is the certificate holder once certified.

Examples:

  • Producer A grows and sells peaches: option 1 certificate
  • Producer A also grows nectarines and supplies group X: option 2 -products will have the status accepted (this producer is not a certificate holder, but is included in the certificate of the producer group X)
  • Group X markets nectarines
  • Group X markets nectarines: option 2 certificate, all Group X members are listed on the certificate including producer A
  • Group X also grows and sells nectarines: option 2 certificate, all Group X members are listed on the certificate including the Group X itself
  • Group X grows and sells also plums (not supplied by members): option 1 certificate
